Moon Pie

Moon Pie was created with sparse mohair. He measures 9 inches tall and is 5 way jointed. His eyes are glass google, nose needle felted, and paws ultrasuede. The little beads on her necklace are Jasper.
Moon Pie is actually a makeover of a bear I made over a year ago. A larger head and different eyes have given him a totally new look.

Hi, I'm Nancy Dontigney of Dog Patch Critters.
When I was doing craft shows in the late 80's to early 90's, making muslin bunnies and small plush thread jointed bears, someone at a show suggested I make a mohair bear. I was also a Veterinary Technician and dog breeder during this time, thus the name "Dog Patch Critters".
Although I have been designing and making bears and other critters since 1993, I feel the new techniques, like needle felting and hand shading, that I've learned in the last 2 years have helped me truly express my sense of humor and creativity.
My critters tend toward the whimsical and most are 6"(15cm) to 12" (30cm). Although most are one of a kind, I occasionally do a small limited edition. I also like series, one of a kind with a theme. My current series is called "Puppy Grrls". Little girl dogs with dresses made with doggie prints.
All Dog Patch Critters come with a sewn in label and a signed, laminated hang tag.
Dog Patch Critters are adult collectibles and not intended for children.
