Misty Lou

Misty Lou was created with hand dyed sparse German mohair. She measures 9 1/2" tall and is five way jointed with discs, bolts and locknuts. Her eyes are glass google, her nose needle felted and her paws wool felt. Misty Lou's flower print dress and matching hair bow were made especially for her. Of course, she feels, the finishing touch to her outfit is her string of "pearls".

Hi, I'm Nancy Dontigney of Dog Patch Critters.
When I was doing craft shows in the late 80's to early 90's, making muslin bunnies and small plush thread jointed bears, someone at a show suggested I make a mohair bear. I was also a Veterinary Technician and dog breeder during this time, thus the name "Dog Patch Critters".
Although I have been designing and making bears and other critters since 1993, I feel the new techniques, like needle felting and hand shading, that I've learned in the last 2 years have helped me truly express my sense of humor and creativity.
My critters tend toward the whimsical and most are 6"(15cm) to 12" (30cm). Although most are one of a kind, I occasionally do a small limited edition. I also like series, one of a kind with a theme. My current series is called "Puppy Grrls". Little girl dogs with dresses made with doggie prints.
All Dog Patch Critters come with a sewn in label and a signed, laminated hang tag.
Dog Patch Critters are adult collectibles and not intended for children.
